Reduce single-use plastics in secondary schools
We have worked in partnership with Norfolk Recycles to bring a new initiative to help secondary school pupils reduce their single-use plastic.
We understand that the idea of becoming single-use plastic free may seem a little overwhelming to begin with, so we’ve broken things down into manageable chunks that allow you to start recognising your progress very quickly.

This scheme is designed to be lead by the students, to help empower them and encourage their peers to join in the pledge.
It's an ideal project for a pupil (or eco) council to lead, or you could form a new group of committed students who are particularly interested in environmental issues.

You can print and display the pledge in your school.

As you work your way through these actions, you will be rewarded for your commitment by achieving increasingly prestigious levels of our award, with the ultimate goal of earning the gold level by becoming as close to completely single-use free as possible.
Your school will receive a certificate for every four targets you complete, from Bronze through to Gold. Please email for a copy of your certificate.
If you would like to book an introductory assembly or talk from one of our Waste Awareness and Education managers, or arrange a tour of one of our Household Recycling Centres, please email us.
